MBBS Admission 2025-26: MBBS or “Medicinae Baccalaureus, Baccalaureus Chirurgiae” (in latin) is a 5.5 year undergraduate course. It is mandatory for the students who aspire to become doctors. MBBS Syllabus:
MBBS curriculum is as it has 4 and a half years of theoretical knowledge followed by a compulsory one year rotatory internship. The four and a half years are divided into 9 semesters which are divided into three phases- Pre clinical, Para clinical and clinical. Each semester is 6 months long. Every year you study different subjects and also have your clinical postings where you test your theoretical knowledge.

MBBS Admission Process 2025-26:
Admission for MBBS college is done through participating in NEET, participating in the counselling and document verification process.
STEP 1: Check Eligibility on the website of NTA.
STEP 2: Registration for the NEET exam by submitting required information and documents.
STEP 3: Participate in the NEET Exam and wait for results.
STEP 4: One the results are out. Participate in Counselling that is done by MCC. There are many rounds conducted.
STEP 5: The seats are allotted by MCC by Seat allotment based on your scores, AIR and your preferred colleges.

MBBS NEET Entrance Exam:
NEET stands for National eligibility cum entrance test. It is attempted by students who want to pursue medical degrees like MBBS, BDS, BAMS etc. It is held once a year. You can choose from different mediums of paper such as English, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Tamil, Kannada, Gujrat, Telugu, Marathi and Asamesse. The basic eligibility criteria is that the candidate must have physics, chemistry and biology as compulsory subjects with a minimum of 45%. It is a 3 hour pen paper based offline exam.
There are compulsory 180 questions in the exam that are needed to be attempted. The paper is divided into four sections Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology. Each section has a total of 45 questions. Each question carries 4 marks that will be awarded when the answer is right and 1 mark is deducted if the answer is wrong.
Career After MBBS:
After completing your MBBS, the basic path chosen by most people is doing MD (Doctor of Medicine) or MS (Master of surgery). When you choose these career paths you can specialize in particular fields. If you want to specialize in surgical areas like General surgery, Internal medicine etc. you do MS and if you want to specialize in non-surgical fields like Pediatrics, Dermatology etc. you do MD.
